Apply for COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) & Grant funds.
- Note that the $10k grant is a small by-line in the application. Although SBA refers to this is a “grant”, it’s actually a cash advance on the loan that will be forgiven. It seems the simplified application is intended to expedite the grant funds (SBA promises three-days). It seems likely that the loan consideration will require additional financials, of which SBA will request.
- You CANNOT apply for the grant without completing the loan application. It seems that you may have an opportunity to decline the loan, should you only be interested in the grant. It goes without saying, due to the newness of this program, much of the above is my personal opinion based on review of the SBA forms, conversations with SBA, etc. New development should be carefully considered.
